Before we fixed our garden fence we had foxes visit our garden, now I watch a neighbour from a second floor flat throw them some food at dawn. The moon, stars and myself watch as the foxes wait in the long grass for the food, hoping we can glance upon them for just a bit longer before they get their breakfast. Foxes are beautiful creatures, and I wanted to celebrate them.
This is my first foray into Japanese Woodblock Printing (known as Mokuhanga).
I can print as many of these as I like, until the wood wears down or I get tired. This first batch is an edition of 20.

Design carved into 13mm Katsura wood, multiblock (3 blocks).
Using Holbein pure pigment paste
Size of paper - 72mm by 200mm Image size is 52mm by 180mm This is a similar size to what is known as a Senshafuda print.
Option 1 - Awagami Kitakata Select (Handmade Japanese paper with a warm tone 90gsm)
Option 2 - Awagami Shiramine Select (Handmade Japanese paper with a an off white tone 110gsm)
Option 3 - Strathmore (American Printmaking paper, 120gsm, bright white)
Option 4 - HoSho (Japanese paper 90gsm, bright white)
---Packaging and Delivery---
This will be posted in a flat, cardboard protected envelope with the print being inside a plastic wrap (to protect from water) which is a council compostable wrap. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and information on how to care for your product. It will be posted via Royal Mail Tracked 48hr (or 24hr).
---The Relief Print Process---
I currently make all my prints by hand - coming up with, drawing the design, tracing it to Lino or Wood and then carving, inking and pressing the Print. All in my home studio in Edinburgh. Due to each Print being separately inked and pressed by hand, there are small variations in the colour coverage, such is Relief Printing - lending each print being totally unique to you.

I do my best in my personal and business life to think about the planet - from what inks I use and the companies I buy from, to how someone would dispose of something they have purchased from me after they have finished with it, to using up what I already have available to me. Anything I have included in your package, including the package itself, has been thought about with environment and our future planet in mind.
