Titled "Sisters through the Bracken" This piece plays homage to the Glencoe Three Sisters mountain range, one many of us have seen on our drive to the North West Coast.
This is my first Reduction Linocut Relief Print.
Reduction Lino means that for each colour you see I have to carve away Lino to reveal the first colour printed. This means I can not reproduce a piece so I have a Limited Edition run of 9.
The oil versions of this print weren't actually hand pressed by me, but pressed at Edinburgh Printmakers using their lovely Press called Egor! You can buy these in my "seconds" Category Section - as I feel the design I am selling here is better.
---Linocut Print Specifications---
This has been printed on Japanese Ho-Sho paper, size 278mm by 394mm image size 295mm by 205mm.
Suggested Frame - fits into an IKEA LOMVIKEN 30cm by 40cm frame, without the mount.
---Packaging and Delivery---
This will be posted in a flat, cardboard protected envelope with the print being inside a plastic type wrap called Glassine (to protect from water) which is paper based and so can be recycled as you do any paper. It will be posted via Royal Mail Tracked 48hr (or 24hr).
---The Relief Print Process---
I currently make all my prints by hand - coming up with, and drawing the design, tracing it to Lino and Wood and then carving, inking and pressing the Print. All in my home studio in Edinburgh. Due to each Print being separately inked and pressed by hand, there are small variations in the colour coverage, such is the nature of relief printing - lending each print being totally unique to you.
---Planet Friendly---
I do my best in my personal and Business life to think about the planet - from what inks I use and the companies I buy from, to how someone would dispose of something they have purchased from me after they have finished with it, to using up what I already have available to me. Anything I have included in your package, including the package itself, has been thought about with environment and our future planet in mind.
