To celebrate the birth of my Godson, I created this multi block print. It celebrates the zodiac - 2025 being the year of the green wood snake, I looked towards Japanese woodblock printing for inspiration and came up with this design. It also depicts the moons position and his star sign, but in a subtle way. Do you want to commemorate this year? Or perhaps know of someone who would like to? This print might be a nice celebration for them too.
Being multi block, I can print this as often as possible - until the blocks or I get tired. This batch was an edition of 18 with different paper variations.

Design carved into Linoleum, in 4 block multiblock method.
Using Holbein pure pigment paste and Schmincke Aqua Lino ink.
Size of paper - 95mm by 225mm Size of image - 78mm by 202mm

Option 2 - Awagami Shiramine select (Handmade Japanese paper, off white 110gsm)

---Packaging and Delivery---
This will be posted in a flat, cardboard protected envelope with the print being inside a plastic wrap (to protect from water) which is a council compostable wrap. Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and information on how to care for your product. It will be posted via Royal Mail Tracked 48hr (or 24hr).
---The Relief Print Process---
I currently make all my prints by hand - coming up with, drawing the design, tracing it to Lino or Wood and then carving, inking and pressing the Print. All in my home studio in Edinburgh. Due to each Print being separately inked and pressed by hand, there are small variations in the colour coverage, such is Relief Printing - lending each print being totally unique to you.
